As part of its commitment to law enforcement, Safer hosts an annual Law Enforcement Coordinators' Symposium (LECS) for all participating agencies. The two-day symposium provides an opportunity for program coordinators to hear critical program-related information from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the NMDOT Traffic Safety Bureau. Each symposium also features presentations from traffic safety and injury prevention advocates from the public and private sectors, such as AAA New Mexico and the District Attorney's Office. Attendees receive the latest administrative and legislative updates, and have the opportunity to earn continuing education units.
